What is your why for getting involved in Un/Do?

As a mother, and an aunt of teens/soon to be teens, I want them to grow up in a world where their mental health is a priority. I want them to become healthy adults where they don’t have to unlearn trauma responses. I want them to feel like they matter and have a voice.

My Favorite Inspirational Quote

“When we are willing to risk venturing into the wilderness, and even becoming our own wilderness, we feel the deepest connection to our true self and to what matters the most.”

-Brene Brown

My Story

Hi there! I am Mak. I am currently an undergrad psychology major with a focus in addiction/forensics. I own Athena Blooms, as a lead design florist. I have come to find that creativity is one of the most crucial parts of our well being and I one day plan to implement creative expression with flowers and Mother Nature into the lives of women and mothers in our community.

I am a mother of a 4 year old little girl. I enjoy foraging, hiking, camping, snowboarding. I find the most peace when I am connected to the earth around me and it’s people. I am so full of love and hope and kindness and I hope to share it with the world to make it a better and safer place.

Who is someone you have always admired and why?

Brene Brown. That woman is incredible and when I read her book “The Gifts of Imperfection” two years ago, I swear a light came on inside of me and never went out. I regularly read her books, studies, and listen to podcasts. She is insightful, brave, and life changing for me in so many ways.
